A provider can be enthusiastic while the practice manager declines. A health system can accept students while the specific clinician has no schedule capacity. Treat those as different problems.

Review every lead and label the reason it stopped. Did nobody respond? Did the provider lack the right specialty? Was the patient population too narrow? Did the site require an existing relationship? Was a legal or education office reviewing the affiliation agreement? This short audit prevents you from repeating the same approach with another list of names.

A clinic needs more than a request for any available preceptor. Match the search to the track. FNP needs broad primary care across the lifespan. AGPCNP needs adult and older-adult primary care. AGACNP needs acute or critical care. Expand to nearby communities, regional practices, community health centers, independent groups, and organizations with a different student calendar. Choose a drive radius you can sustain through the full rotation. A distant yes is not useful if work, family, or the required weekly schedule makes the commute impossible after the first few shifts.
